Wildlife & Bird Watching

Iconic Species In Amazing Habitats

The Athabasca Region is nestled in the southern part of the mixed-wood boreal forest, providing excellent habitat for birds, mammals, amphibians, insects and more! This creates great opportunities for wildlife spotting, photography and viewing.

Each season there is a varied cast of characters for you to see. Spring is a great time for returning migratory birds.
